While a ring bearer – and some method of carrying the ring – is a traditional wedding concept, many couples are making it fresh by using new objects and materials for their ring ‘pillows’. We’ve been seeing some really fun, creative and beautiful ideas lately that we thought you’d enjoy…

The big trend (not surprisingly) seems to be nature-inspired. Botanicals are everywhere, with designers finding inspiration beyond flowers with moss, branches and twigs. Natural elements like shells, nests and pottery are also being used.

With silk flower headpieces and accessories being so popular, it only makes sense to see this extended to the ring bearer… illustrated here by the piece we created for a wedding in Palm Beach this past spring. We created this flower with bits of leftover tulle from the bridesmaids’ dresses, handcut and shaped silk petals, Swarovski crystals and pearls. We attached a wide satin ribbon underneath the flower for the ring bearer to hold.
